303. Mental Helpers: A Conversation about Mental Health Resources and Pathways with Serena Cisneros

In this week of Medicine Talkers, we will be having a conversation with Serena Cisneros, a university mental health provider here at UW-Madison’s University Health Service (UHS). In this episode, the conversation will be geared towards pathways towards careers in mental health, current campus mental health resources for students on campus, and innovations towards allowing mental health services to be more accessible.

If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, you can call or text 988 or chat online at 988lifeline.org to reach a 24-hour crisis center for free, confidential, and immediate help. You can also call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) to speak with a trained counselor. If the crisis is life-threatening, call 911 and ask for an officer trained in crisis intervention.
